I know the Hp's Go card is bad but is it that bad??? and can it not be customized even by me personally?
I can't really tell how bad the Go in HP/Compaq is because I do not game at all and my knowledge of GPUs until 2 months ago was approximated very well by 0. Now I could tell a thing or two about GPUs but newer ones and not something like the GeForce Go in HP. As I mentioned I have heard that if you need good (not excellent) 3D graphics you should stay away from it but cannot quarantee that this is indeed the case.
As for customizing GPUs in a laptop I don't think I have ever heard of someone doing it. I have heard of everything else, even monitors, being swapped but not GPUs. I am not sure if the GPU isn't actually soldered to the MB. Again, I am hardly the best source of info as far as GPUs are concerned.
May be you could go to BestBuy and make them hate you with quastions about the Go, maybe even test it on the spot. But still, don't believe them if they tell you that it is a perfectly capable GPU and will play the latest games or something like that.
Wish could help you more but....
