Took the plunge

Ok ordered my "dream" system. Funny how things work. I have been reading this thread for several weeks watching for negatives and really nothing creeps in. Then 1 day later it seems I have read more depot posts than I have in the weeks I have been watching. Ok that's only one small worry.

The biggest worry for me. Is to find someone to buy my 1 year old Toshiba. hehe. Ok I can live with that problem. Here's what I ordered. Let the wait begin.

Oh that brings me to the other problem. I am not a patient man.

Welcome Xapache!

Personally, my experience with AW could not be a better one...I'm sure you'll have plenty of late nights fraggin away on that bad boy.

Try to keep somewhat sane in the Phase Game I'm currently awaiting a desktop so maybe we can be support buddies Like in Anger Management?

Anyway, welcome to the AW club and to the forums

Give it a few months...then sell her on the "one toy a year" thing

That's what I did!

I don't want to buy a $2400+ laptop if it's not going to be peeeerfect.

Thanks for the welcome Craig. I am trying not to think about the phase game just trying to keep busy.

I ordered it on Sunday and as of Tuesday it was on Phase 3. When ordered they said about Sept. 21st.

Can I expect that to be about accurate? Anyone know or had experience in the date they give you?

Nonetheless. Thanks for the welcome and I can't wait to see how Americas Army looks on this thing.

It seems the general pattern has been that Alienware's estimated ship date is overly optimistic.
I'm not so sure - my laptop arrived on 8/14 (shipped 8/11), but was originally estimated to ship 8/30. IMVHO, it just comes down to what they happen to have in stock or not.

I have had the best experience with Alienware then any other company. The customer support has been great, and even though I have had many problems with my laptop (some self inflicted), they were great at getting things fixed. The wait was somewhat long, but for me, it was more then worth the wait. I hope you enjoy your system as much as I have enjoyed mine. Good luck and welcome to the family!

My laptop shipped 9/1 Yeahhhhhhhh

I ordered my 51m on 8/3 and it shipped on 9/1 with an estimated delivery date of saturday, 9/4. I hope they are right, because of the holiday I will have to wait until Tuesday if they are wrong. Did most of you guys get your delivery on the estimated delivery date??????????

Mine took just over 2 weeks to build/deliver...I would have had it in less, but I couldn't be there for the first two delivery attempts.
