Windows xp error, CPU Problem?

HELP! I love my laptop.. very little trouble.. however the last two weeks I have some wierd things happening..
whenever I leave the machine for a substantial period of time on but untouched - like 2 hours maybe? the computer has gone back to the log in screen. I have to log in again.. when the start screen comes up it shows
a windows error and asks if I want to report it..
Then I can follow the path from the microsoft link and this below is what it says happened.
I also cannot get into the view network connections area without the machine either putting up a error message or restarting itself. I deleted and reloaded my network adaptor card thinking that was the trouble and it was
really hard to get it all back working.. but it is.
just this error that comes up every time I log on now.
I read a post and think maybe I should reinstall windows XP windows and find the repair area.. what do you think??

(from microsoft website)
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because your computer processor detected and reported an unrecoverable hardware error to Windows XP. To do this, the processor used the Machine Check Exception (MCE) feature of Pentium processors or the Machine Check Architecture (MCA) feature of some Pentium Pro processors. The following factors may cause this error message:
System bus errors
Memory errors that may include parity or Error Correction Code (ECC) problems
Cache errors in the processor or hardware
Translation Lookaside Buffers (TLB) errors in the processor
Other CPU-vendor specific detected hardware problems

Help!

anybody have a minute to help me with this one?
Sager called me back and said it seems the computer may be
overheating.. and to use a can of compressed air.. will do.. seems pretty
major for such a simple fix.. I also have the power always on thing checked..

I just lost my inbox in my email too.. maybe I have a worm?!?!?!?!?!?

You probally just have dust bunny accumulation around the heatsink and fan of your lappy. If you have a 4760-4780 system then its just a matter of removing the cover over the cpu and spraying compressed air there. Then remove the fans and spray them with some compressed air. That should be all you need.

If you are worried about a worm or trojan, just do a google search for Stinger and download it and run it. That plus norton and you will be good to go

If you need more help just PM me or IM me on yahoo IM and I will do what I can to help you.

Good Luclk
