I thought there would be a way to swap the blue bits on the 8600 with the silver bits of the D800. That way you don't need to remove the motherboard or the other stuff. Looks good.

man i think the 700M is Fugly and too big. it seem like dell instead of getting small like everyone else they seem to keep on getting big. anyway i have one question y so many laptop or are they not all yours. I have losts on computer in my house and two laptops but one of them is my girls and My other computers have a purpose. I c it as having like 5 cars when u can only use one at a time. or gettin a Speed demon when u can only drive it a 30 MPH and cant even burn rubber because if a cop see you they can fine you.

Please tell me all does laptops arent yours. and damn if they are u most really have money up your A$$ lol (not in a bad way, just trying to say you have monay to miss use)

I have a I-700m and the Latitude X300. I am selling off the Latitude X300 for 3 reasons. First, it is too delicate; the X300's and 300m's have all suffered from flimsy LCD screen lids, leading to the discoloration "smiley face" effect that plagues them. There are TONS of messages on the DELL forums that touch on this issue. I have already had DELL replace the LCD once and I have to keep it in its own case so not to recreate the issue. Second, the screen is better in clarity and sharpness, and the widescreen makes it a must have for multi-tasking by having 2 windows opened side-by-side. Third, I prefer having the drive built into the notebook itself; carrying the X300 with the D-Bay module is cumbersome at times, especially when desk space (i.e. at school, or plane, etc) is at a premium.

Finally, the 700m isn't very photogenic in my opinion, looks much better in person, and it's footprint is a little less than the X300 and weighs not much more. The X300 plus D-Bay (DVD/CDRW Module) weighs about the same as the ALL-IN-ONE 700m.

I really like how the 700m looks. I for some reason really like notebooks that are white or have white highlights. Including the looks of that beast of a toshiba sitting next to them. I'm kinda surprised the Area-51M doesnt have a white option. Btw, that is white on the 700m isn't it? Or is it a really light silver?

How long did it take your computer to come to you from the "shipped" status?

Good idea. That will clear out all of that junk Dell installs.
