Headphones and optical?

I passed by a home theater expert type place today (Pause, in central Stockholm) They wondered why I would need a pair of headphones with optical, since there aren't any headphones that support Surround Sound... Apparentely there are those that contain some sort of three speaker system, but all of them run the same channel, they're just there to create a more "spacious sound".

Just use the normal plug if you want headphones. (They'll cost you a whole lot less...)

Not my cable...

The cable that I received was not that YRA-154 that you mentioned. It has the 3.5mm connector, but the Y part splits to an RCA-looking thing and another thing I've never seen before.

I've actually heard that the splitter allows you to do input/output at the same time... but I could be wrong.

Boy, I sure hope someone w/ an 8886 definitively clears up this whole thing. I'm confused as heck right now. It seems like everyone is doing something different, but for the most part, people are getting it to work.

PCTorque, maybe you can get an audiophile from Sager to check this thread and offer a once-and-for-all opinion.
