Dropped my apple 12" laptop, Quick question

Okay well I dropped my apple notebook and what happened is, that it fell on the left bottom corner of the laptop and dented it in one spot, so on the other side of the corner the metal popped out a little bit, allowing dust and other things to get into the laptop. In order to get it fixed I will probably need to bring it to the apple store and get the bottom and side piece (one piece) replaced. The question is do you have any clue how much that will run me, or any other alternatives, where the metal can be popped in without the bottom and side piece (one piece) taken off.

Could you make a pic of it ? This will help us a lot.

I don't think you can do that by yourself, you'll need a small soft hammer to get that straight.

What apple will do ,if you take it to the service center, is changing the case, and I don't know if for less then 500$ you'll be set.

Oh damn $500 is definitely not in range, I want to spend $75 max to pop that dent back in. Any suggestions how it can be done, or where or what type of place I could bring it to?

Ouch mate. I feel sorry for you. I don't think you can self repair it and make it look good as new. If your gonna choose to send it to apple then its gonna cost quite a bit as by the judge of the pics. The dent is part of the entire base unit.
let us know how it goes!

well I would like something that will cover it but I can take off, like scotch tape or so, but will not take off the paint with it.

that may work, any other ideas welcomed.

I agree don't try fixing it yourself the mainboard may get over stressed and hairline fracture
Just try to cover up the openings with maybe duct tape \ looks like your in luck as the colors should match

there has gotta be a way to get that metal piece to bend back in, thats all I want....I was thinking of a hammer, but I think that may create to much shock on the parts inside and ruin the machine, my other idea was a super slim pair pliars, but I dont think that would work, and last idea would be a hand wrench

perhaps if you did the exact opposite of what you did to make it get like that; either pick it up as fast as you can, or drop it on the opposite corner.

I was going to take it into the apple service center, but they want $40 just for a quote.

that is purely ridicolous in my opinion.
