I'm not an expert but I've used mine some. If you want "air" signals I suggest getting any old TV "rabbit ears" and with the appropriate adapters plug them into your TV input. You'll only get as good a signal as is available inside your building. Cable TV plugs straight into the supplied adaptor and TV input. Of course you go into Settings (Tool Wrench on mine) and select either Air or Cable and do a search to set them up. TV is best viewed in a small to medium window, as the transmission resolution will never reproduce to the quality res of your laptop. Do that, or expand the screen and view from a distance, like you would a regular TV. With the small window you can multi-task on your PC anyway. Good luck (and hope you're staying dry down there).
