I think people who have waited 40+ days for their laptop (40 seems to be standard for some dekstops right now though) should be able to sport some sort of recognition in their signature. As thought up by deadscott in this forum: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=32718, the person with the longest wait gets the DREADED ORB of DESPAIR. Maybe 40 plusers should have a medal in their signature and the person with the top wait gets the orb. Make some suggestions...
I am thinking more and more about this after my call to AW today. I hit phase 1 on the 15th of August. After a few more phases I would call to make sure there were no backorders. I didn't change any specs on my machine and I was told there were no backorders. I called today thinking that after 24 days of processing, inspecting and building, I haven't made much progress. It turns out that a backorder now exists for all of the p4 3.4ghz processors. Anyone else have a 3.4 going into their lappy that was told it was on backorder? What seems odd is even if they have a backorder that just came about, that shouldn’t affect any of the other progress till phase 9. Do you guys think I have made really slow progress in my phases? They told me that they are expecting to have the processors in on the 17th of September. Time for fun with math and your AW order: So then give 5 days for build time (not counting weekends) and if I am lucky they would ship it off on between the 24th and the 27th. I live all the way cross country so lets give it 5 days to ship placing it in my hands on October 1st. August 15th to October 1st= 47 days.
Most of the people that have really huge wait times did changes to their order. This is just a joke. I have no changes in order, just a real unexpected backorder. I have read all of the post answers to comments similar to these, so you guys don't have to say them again. I am just stating my situation. I have been quite modest about it and am just posting to see if anyone else has the backorder status on the p4 3.4. I think I am going to have to set a deadline for this thing. If it doesn’t ship/come by a certain day, I cancel the order. I really need this thing for school and everything else. I don't even have a computer right now; I have to walk into campus to use one. Is a simple backorder like this just standard or am I just unlucky to have to wait on the order? The rep told me the processors could be in sooner, but I am skeptic. I am also afraid of more delays and backorders as I wait. PLEASE, Comments, past Experience or any advice on my situation. Thanks ~Kray~
