Shipping Questions

I was wondering how long it has taken for other peoples Alienware systems to ship. Here is a list of the phases that have happened so far and their respective dates:

Phase 1 (Order Received): 8/17/04
Phase 2 (Awaiting Payment Processing): 8/20/04
Phase 3 (Payment Received): 8/23/04
Phase 4 (Configuration Verification Phase): 8/27/04
Phase 5 (Pre-Production Inventory Queue phase): 9/1/04
Phase 6 (Inventory Audit): 9/6/04

This just seems like a long time since I'm already midway through the 3rd week of college. I've been reduced to using the library's computers, mostly no-name companies and dells .So anyone who could give me an idea of how much longer would be a god. Ooh almost forgot, Alienware said the expected shipping date would be 9/13/04 unless there were back orders on parts (no word as of yet if there were/are any).

I've been in the same situation. My order should have been shipped today, but I had a mess up in billing that slowed everything down. I wanted to save my first post until I received my computer, but I figured what I say could help you out.

First off, from what I understand, the estimated shipping date assumes you get to phase 3 the same day you order. So a better date would be the 19th.

I order on 8-9 but didn't get to phase 3 until 15 days later. The college I go to is only a community college and the computers suck. All refurbished Dells and the network constantly down. So like you I can't stand using a public system. (During my C++ final last year we had 6 working computers to finish our finals on and none of the external media drives worked. And the internet was down.) This is my last semester, thank god.

I have a modified shipping estimate of Sept. 16th. Until then I'm working off my phone. I have a t-mobile sidekick to take notes on.

I've ordered around the same time as you and I just got into Phase 6 on just a few days ago. We are both in for the long haul it seems. The shipping date they gave me is obviously false and wrong. Oh well. I'm still waiting patiently.

Also, there is some helpful stuff in their to respond to your questions. I have looked at other people phase times and I personally think that my order is going rather slowly. This could be for a number of reasons. Just be glad that you don't have a back order situation right now (knock on wood). We will get it eventually! ~Kray~

Hey Dunyas, Hykster, and KRAY-zurf. Thanks alot, I really appreciate it. I guess we're all just gonna have to sit tight, bite our tongues, and hope that when we open our eyes a big black box with an alien on it will be sitting on our doorstep. Until then...my room mates comp will have to do...at least while he's not looking. Besides this is building character, and when we all finally get it, it should be that much sweeter
