I bought the Audigy 2 NX for EURO 80 one week ago ..........

The soundcard is simply amazing .

1. You can play the songs stored in your computer by just using the remote control ( included in the package ) ---- similar to Michrosoft's Windows Media . Around 3 - 4 meter rage

2. Has all the inputs you can think of ( except MIDI in and out ).

3. Supports USB 2.0 AND 1.1

4. Comes bundled with softwares such as > creative wave studio , creative media player, Audio Stream Recorder , Creative DVD Audio player and Audio converter ---- BTW , I connected my guitar via a synthesizer with the Audigy 2 nx , while using wave studio to record while I am playing ..... Works perfectly !!! ( just incase you play any instruments )

5. Last but not least....... exceptional sound !!!!

The only problem with the card is that >
You cannot adjust Treble and Bass manually

Hope this could help you out

Nope ! ( My personal opinion ) , try to ask someone else though with an Audigy 2 NX - just in case !

I have also tried the NX with my Logitech x 620 speakers ( no bass loss ! )

wow thats cool. I wasn't even shopping for an external sound card but that just landed in my shopping list.

I too have the Audigy 2 NX. I only use a 2:1 speaker system. Absolutely no complaints on quality.

However, I am not particularly fond of the remote software, it could be better. It doesn't work with Musicmatch, it loads the playlist from Musicmatch to it's own player. The quality on it's own player is not as good as Musicmatch.

Don't get me wrong, if I had it to do over again, I would still buy the Audigy. Plus it was on sale for $79 when I bought it back in May.

I have an audigy 2 nx as well. i use rca converters to go into the 5.1 input on my stereo. the sound is amazing. There's no bass loss that I can hear.

the biggest thing i dont like is that it doesnt decode dolby digital like the extigy did. Like if i connect my xbox to it through a optical digital cable (thats what i use right now for my home theatre) it wont decode the signal for surround sound.

Audigy NX 2

I have the Creative Audigy NX 2 and it has been great for me. The sound is much improved and I have experienced NO bass loss whatsoever. The only problem is that there are some bugs in the Creative Music Player thats provided, so I tend to stick with Musicmatch or Windows media.
Overall its worth the 100 bucks. If you have anyother questions let me know.

People use music match?? I can't stand it. I wasn't interested in something like it but this thing just went on my wish list.

Musicmatch seems to provide the best play quality I've found between Musicmatch, Media player, Creative, or Winamp. Do you use something outside what I've mentioned that provides a better quality with a decent Library function????

I'm always up for trying something new, especially since Musicmatch seems to be a resource hog.

I'm also in the market for an external usb sound card (logitech z640's don't get surround sound from the 4750 ports) and I've been looking at this one for a while. I think I'll pick it up once I see on sale at Newegg.

the thing about the Creative products is that they require a separate power source via an AC jack. They aren't truly "portable". The Philips Aurilium is a really nice portable external sound card since it draws power from the USB2 line

ya, but are your 5.1 surround speakers portable!! I dont think they are more portable than the sound card...and if you dont have kick ass speakes, whats the point of an external sound card...so i figure the extra AC is not that bad...

iTunes hands down. 1) u can buy individual songs for 99 cents. 2) It plays m4a files, which are very high quality. 3) It supports the iPod, which I own one. lol

EDIT: Audigy 2 NX. I recommend it to a friend, and he got it w/ a 7.1 speaker set. Sounds absolutely stunning.

I'll have to give it a whirl. I actually just bought an iPod a few weeks ago, and I have iTunes on my PC. I just never checked out the player.

THANKS!!!
