New ASUS laptops soon?

I've been leaning towards the sony s1xp (or s170 you lot call it) but i would like to save some money if a comparable system can be had for cheaper...

I spoke to somone at Scan today, after asking about why one of the ASUS laptops i was looking at suddenly dissapeared from the page, and was told that it was discontinued, and that there were going to be new ones coming out somtime in september

Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Its making choosing my new laptop very hard indeed...

I would have been sold on this one here if it had a dothan and not an integrated graphic chip

Anyone have any suggestions?

Recap of what i am looking for..

dothan centrino,
13.3" screen (max, will settle for a NICE (x-brite?) 12" non wide)
ati 9700 64mb,
internal DVD
a small and light chassis
upgradable ram.

At the moment ive been doing a fair amount of research, but i only know of the main brands, out of those the sony seems to be the only one to meet my requirments, now i *can* afford it, but would prefere cheaper

Thanks for any input!

I'm not sure what is imminently planned from Asus, however, I did read an interesting article about a week ago about Asus and Acer, in particular, hiring Italian designers for their laptop products.

I think they discontinued the latest M3 versions a while ago.

So... new ASUS M3 coming out? (I was going to get the M3Np originally, but the integrated turned me off)
