8890 reformat wont work!

Hello, I am trying to reformat my 8890, it is the first time i am doing this since purchased. I believe I have bios version 2.0.0.1 or something close to that. I have looked in the bios and have done everything i can to make it boot from the recovery cd but its just not working! It's like it doesnt recognize its there or something. Does anybody know a solution?!

you have probably done this already, but make sure the boot sequence has the cd-rom booting before the hard drive. while in bios, select the boot tab and move the cd-rom drive above the hard drive. make sure to select the 'exit saving changes' options in the exit tab.

Also check you have removed any mp3 player or 6in1 card reader.

This was my problem 2 weeks ago.

After a day (literally) of screaming (and also trying all the ways I could think of), I swapped the CD drive to a different bay: it used to be left-hand side at the front, now it's left-hand side at the back.

CD boot worked first time after that
