I finally received my i9100...here come the questions...

I've finally got it! And my corsair XMS memory came in the next day. How exciting!!! You can check my tag for all my specs....

As a new owner, I do have some questions....

-How can I verify that my DVD drive is the 8x DVD drive? It says that it's a Sony DVD+RW DW-R56A, whatever that means...

-What are the recommended drivers to install, i.e. Omega drivers?

-What little tweaks can I do to make this my ultimate Multimedia machine? I'm not much of a gamer, but I do enjoy photoediting and am excited to use this lappy as a platform to begin video editing. Like, little perfomance gains and settings to milk all the performance out of this thing that I can...Safetly, of course.

-What programs are recommended to monitor my computer, other than the basic Windows programs and Dell programs. For example, monitor CPU temp, fan speed, yada yada yada.

-The ultimate question: my volume and mute buttons do not display the volume and mute anymore, now I have to use the Sound control in the task tray. Help?

-Anything else a new i9100 owner should know.

Thanks in advance!! I'm so F*ckin' Stoked!!!

yeah omega drivers, though for right now, the Dell's are ok as they are based on Cat 4.8

I8kfangui works for monitoring. there's a thread in there that has an update that works with the 9100 better. You get the normal i8kfangui then update with the file in the thread.

No offence, but just about all of this info is in the FAQs.

I8kfangui like Rogueone said, also if you double click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the bottom right corner of the screen you'll see the drive details.
