Depends if Intel has to change the socket or not.

The dual core chip they demoed at IDF was running on a Grantsdale, most likely Socket T. So that could be one of the reasons for the move is so that more pins can be used.

If it can run on the current Dothan sockets, I'd imagine it would be possible, provided Intel didn't throw a wrench into the chipsets to sell more. Otherwise, the socket changes and it's a definite no.

anyone know whether future AMD lv chips.. e.g. A64 3700 will be using the same sockets as the 2800 of the today?
