just for you? well, arent we feeling special now! What are they doing designing somthing to allow the fans to be on until it gets to a certain temp?
I just asked them to change the firmware that we all have now so that the fans come on at startup regardless of cpu temp. This should take care of my crashes and possibly prevent you guys from devleoping problems like me. Adam might post it in the forums, if not I can try to get Sager to give me a link and I'll post it (taking all the glory muahahaha!)

my fans do come on at startup.

strange, you might have the old new one. do the fans stay on the same setting all the time?
yeah. but they fluctuate in speed. my temps stay around 41 hd 44 cpu now. Powernow doesn't seem to do anything. I downloaded it from the firmware thread that isn't closed down yet.

meh, idk. ask Sager about it

when you say powernow, do you mean specifically the progrom Powernow, or do you mean just Window's control of the processor. I never used the program Powernow, but always let Windows handle it for me. Are you using the latest relesease of the AMD athon 64 processor driver (May, 04, version 1.1.0.14)? I can send you the iso of the firmware that I used. or did you use the firmware that Menator posted on his site, which I think is the same thing?

Just download and install the latest CPU driver from AMD and set power profile to laptop. You can see if it's working by downloading AMD's Dashboard utility if you're curious.

or mobile meter, but i think he has it already.
Dashboard is so big and clunky. mobile meter is chic.

I used the firmware that was on this site. Posted by adam. I will test the newest firmware out later on tonight, as long as it works the same.

Mayaman, I got my 4750 before you so I don't think it depends on how old they are. I think it's more of an issue with some machines probably having hardware that is either more sensitive to the heat or they have been slighly damaged over time from it, making them even further susceptible to it.

Either way, the case was improperly designed and really needed either another small fan, more vents, or more height to allow proper airflow.

got the new firmware now, and everything is working great! I'll letcha know exactly what it does once I'm done playing around with it.

Ogre,
where did you get the new firmware? Adam seems to have pulled all the links to the prior releases.
straight from Sager, they emailed me the last one as an attachment.
