Router Pics...m (Many Pics)
I have used Billion, Linksys, Dlink, Netgear and Belkin. From experience, Billion and Belkin have the longest range. Netgear the least, but this is only my experience.
I currently use a Belkin at home, and a Linksys WRT54G as in these pics for my portable Lan / Internet.
I upgraded the standard aerials with high gain ones I purchased on ebay. They do improve things, but not really that much.
The Linksys is good as it can be powered by a 12 volt lead acid battery, the battery in the pic runs it for 16 hours.
The high gain aerials are twice as tall as the originals
The whole thing, Wireless broadband modem, router, batteries included fit neatly into a 1520 Pelican case. It gives me a totally portable wireless hotspot, that runs for 14 hours on batteries or indefinately with the Inverter in a car cigarette adapter.
These last two pictures are of my Fathers Dlink 624+ It works great.
I also made up a battery pack for the Dlink Router, it only runs for 3 hours though, on 4 AA batteries. The thing that looks like a rabbit is a wireless broadband modem from www.unwired.com.au
This is Dads one.
