OFFICIAL ATI Catalyst 4.9 drivers released

the official 4.9 drivers are out along with an updated control panel and an updated control center.

in case anybody here wants to install the 4.9 drivers on your laptop you will need this utility:

http://users.skynet.be/FCB/files/Dhmodtool2.0b.exe

just extract the driver pacakage and run that utility to add support for mobility radeons.

Has anybody here tried the Catalyst Control Center on their laptop? It looks really cool and it would be a shame if it wasnt usuable on a laptop.

I LOVE college ethernet, I download the 43 mb cats + control center in 40 seconds FLAT!!

Sorry for that burst of excitement, i've got dialup at home

40 seconds? pfft. www.i2hub.com if you do any p2p stuff. i did a music transfer with a friend last night over this network at 7mb/s (Yes, 7 megabytes, not megabits) average. I love Purdue's network. We did about 5 albums (420mb) in a minute flat.

do these drivers still have the playback problems? I'm running 4.5's coz I couldn't watch any movies with the 4.8's.

I have the same problem as do several other people, can't play movies so the newer Catalyst drivers are useless. :-( Any imporvements?
