small note, for a second i thought something was wrong with my computer today, when i boot up and logged in i got a blue screen and it crashed. luckily it was just a bad tweak that i made in the regestry, so i was able to fix that pronto.

as for the temps, i have never used this laptop when it is sitting just on a desktop. it is always on my tagus coolpad. i prefer the coolpad because the angle makes it easier for me to type, and the abilty to move the laptop 360 degrees helps too.

the only thing that bothers me about the laptop is the time it takes to boot up. it boots windows extremely fast, but the bios takes long. the bios shows the memory check and all that stuff, and then hangs for a bit until it loads the mouse. i think it says mouse initialized or something like that, but it takes a long time to initialize the mouse. i dont use that touchpad so i went into the bios to see if i can disable it, but it doesnt seem to have that as an option. hopefully a future bios update will fix this problem. its not even a big problem, it just takes like 15 seconds for the bios screen to pass.
61C is about what Mayaman gets I think...plus your using a pad so that might have knocked it down a few extra degrees..Have you benched it yet with 3dmark03 and Aquamark..I think Ogre wants to see how his compares with your 3700 :P
Me, I think i'll still wait on PCIE :P

i prefer to do all my benching at the gym. i really dont like doing any sort of computer benchmark because they always take long and i feel it is a waste of space to install a program that doesnt do me any good. my pad doesnt have any fans on it or anything. it is props it up so that the computer fans arents smushed against a desk or something. plus it makes it easier to type. even if i were using a laptop that runs super cool...i.e. centrino, i would still use this targus pad because it makes using a laptop so much easier for a desktop kinda guy like me.

WOW! I just installed UT2004 and I play it at 1680x1050 resolution with every option at max and it works flawlessly. now lag or slow down at all. the thing is beautiful and fast. i have never loved ut2004 this much! unbelievable is all I can say. this is the way it was meant to be played!
