The Perfect Computer

Thread Starter
If you had an unlimited budget to build the forever out of reach "Perfect computer" What would you put in it. And what would it look like? If you guys are as good as i think you are, you can go the extra mile and show us a picture of what your perfect computer would look like.

An AMD FX-53, no case, and a 19" Monitor. Everything else would just be the top of the line everything. I also might enjoy making a dual, maybe even quad, processor machine...

perfect comp??? c'mon, you could build one with like dual gpu's, multiple amd's fx53 of course, a few gigs of ram, 4 10,000rpm hard drives raid 0'ed together. Add a 15,000 scsi hard drive for backup. Go with the radeon x800....i dont know too much about individual specs, but i too would just buy top of the line if money wasnt an issue. Best motherboard, best processor (amd fx53), most/fastest ram available for the mobo, a bunch of really fast hard drives in raid 0,, top of the line video card,,and then try to make it run quiet ,,,use the "silent" fans and the foam for the quiet effect. Then, add some led's to make it glow,. Thats prolly about all...

I think it would be cool to have an array of opterons...not like they would serve much purpose though...

Mine would use new technology not yet created on earth...it be equivelant to approx 100THZ processor, and you wouldnt need ram because the 2Billion terrabyte harddrive would be plenty fast. The gpu would also be built in and easily able to run any game in full high settings with truely lifelike graphics or holographic technology. it would be in a laptop or desktp case that would look like a normal computer(i would have the only one of course). it could burn dvds and any kind of media without a drive instantly. built in sound out and in(speakers and mic), built in camera, etc.... it would basically be something beyond whats seen in scifi movies.

No im not that much of a geek....ive just thought about your question before

WITH AN UNLIMITED BUDGET, I DON'T THINK YOU COULD GET A 2 BILLIONG TBYTE HDD...sorry for caps...

And ram is always faster than a hard drive, just from the way it operates,,,why not go with 100tbytes of ram and the puram technology????

Like I said, the technology hasnt been invented yet. Itll be based on light and quantum "stuff". I read some article on scientists being able to stop or slow light down to a standstill, which would be the first step in creating a "quantum computer". Mine would be based on that except alot more advanced. The HD wouldnt be a HD really, just using the terms.

FX-53 with a terabyte of L1 Cache, imagine that. No need for a hard drive, it's all on-die!
Realistically, 4 15000 RPM SCSI drives, dual FX-53's, 8GB DDR2 RAM, two GF 6800's, and an UXGA flat panel with 12ms response time. All of this is possible!

Don't have any idea of what i can do on that, but:

I can sell it and buy a good car

you dont even need 3d acceleration with that thing! 72 processors!!!!!!
Well, if price is no object, u could just get a 2000 processor supercomputer. Run Doom 3 at 999999999999999999999999999999999999999 FPS.

can you please show me a motherboard that will support the two GF 6800's i cant seem to even find a motherbaord with 2 agp slots or is using the new pci express bus and will these work together on 1 monitor or is it only for multi monitor support ?

i think the perfect computer would be one that i could have sex with. with adjustable hair color and body proportions. like the liquid metal hybrid terminator from t3.......sorry, but this is my vision of the future
post #14 of 16
lol,,,you lonely, lonely man.

as for the gpu, I am not sure which mobo supports it, but they do exist. I believe it is for multiple monitor support though,,,,but would make since if it did the same work as a hard drive in raid,,,,just splits half the textures to each video card...
