$1200 a year? Pee shaw...you must live in the South like me. Let's ask some of our NY/NJ people what they're paying. I paid 2000 a year when I was 18 for a Yugo when I lived in NJ 12 years ago.

What kind of cars do you all drive? I drive a 2004 Toyota Highlander Limited. My wife drives a 2004 Toyota Camry XLS V6. We also have a 94 Ford F150 for pulling the horse trailer.

My next car with probably be a 5 series BMW or perhaps an AWD or 4WD beemer.

This insurance crap is what keeps me poor, thus why I no longer own a vehicle. Since I'm an avid cyclist, I just turn the cranks.

I think the codepoet probably really drives a beaten down General Lee since he hails from Alabama (yes, I have been there before, albiet on business). Fond memories of eating Hog Heaven pulled pork samiches in Brewton Alabama. Stayed in the Days Inn there. Found out months later they were busted for having peep holes in the hotel rooms (the seediest hotel I have ever had the pleasure to sleep in). I thought there were glory holes . . .
Then the fun times in Northern Alabama in Stevenson. Dodging tornados.

Thanks... congrats to you too... and good luck

I'll be 35 when the baby is born

So, does that mean Darth is the oldest around here?

Currently drive a 2000 Durango. In the process of buying a Lincoln Navigator and giving the Durango to my wife.
Darth - I'm working with the Lincoln dealer in your neck of the woods. Getting the 2005 for invoice + incentive (if they offer any).

Psycho, make sure you get figures from www.kbb.com to use for bargaining. We were able to get a good price on both our new cars that way.

The cheapest insurance I have heard of here in Jersey is like 1,500 a year but it can go up to like 2,500 for All State or one of the major ones. If you're a brand new driver, it's like a $350 premium... insurance will kill me

24 in a week...

I pay about 1200 a year for insurance and drive my crappy little Golf like it's General Lee every chance I get.
