Thread Starter
i cant decide which computer to get should i get the zt3000 note book with 1.7 dothan,64MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) 9200 , 1 stick of 512, 15.4 wide screen with bright view,80 GB 4200 RPM,DVD+RW / R & CD-RW Combo Drive,Intel(R) Pro Wireless 2200 802.11b/g WLAN

All for 1599 or get the

m6811 with atholn 64 3400+, 64 mb of ati 9600, 2 sticks of 256, 15.4 widescreen with out brite view, 80 gigs 4200, dvd rw +/- and cdrw combo, and wire less internet for 1700 with 250 in rebates.

now i need to know which one to get.
i will be taking the laptop to school, but battery around 3 hours is good. i will also be playing games like simcity 4 and the up coming rollercoaster 3. i will be getting an extra stick of 1 gig ram because i will be doing video editing. so which one is better? which one is faster?? pro and con of each one ??? any help please

There are aesthetic difference with both but the bottom line is that the m6811 is going to have more "oomph" with the gpu and cpu while the Zt3000 is going to get a lot better battery. That said, if you're doing video editing, I'd probably opt for the m6811. Battery life from the reviews hovers around 3 hours (vs the 4 hours of the zt) so it should meet your requirements.

battery life wise....although i dont have the 6811, i do have an amd64 machine and my bat life is around 2 hours of mixed use. 1 hour of more hard core use (install of files...gaming) and just over 2 hours set on max battery absolutely next to idle (AIM+Firefox)

Some of hte 68XX series reviews are claiming 2.5 to 3 hours of battery life. They could be exagerrating (not unheard of).

I get at least 2, but I've never been off ac longer then that. Windows says I still have more though...

thats logical for the emachines because they have a weaker video card than i do and a 5400rpm hd vs 7200rpm i have.
