This is an awesome mouse with an excellent grip for a mid sized to large size hand. Right-handed, comfortable, trendy, upscale, red, responsive, functional, task oriented. Overall A+++

I am not sure that I have ever seen any discounts for the emachines, and not sure about Gateway either. However, I know that sometimes Dell offers machines to students at a discount. I know that before I bought my m6809, I checked out the discounts for my school, UGA. First, I checked online at Dell.com and they have some offers, and I also talked to the people at the Campus Bookstore, and they showed me their offers as well. My school has some sort of contract with Dell, so all of the Bookstore offers were Dells as well. The best you can hope for is a hundred bucks or so off.
From my research, you won't find anything more than a generic, Pentium w/128 RAM and onboard video. If you are looking to game with your lappie, then you will probably have to just buy one without a student "discount". That said, if you just want a laptop, you can probably save a $100 or so with the discount. Hope this helps. . .
