Antec Cooler + Ferrari 3200 <PICS!!!>

my antec notebook cooler is here from buy.com finally. It was $24.99 with free shipping. As you can see it fits PERFECTLY under the Ferrari 3200. I must say that I am more impressed with this product than the Targus Laptop Chillmat <aka Tornado Chillmat>. It's not made of cheap plastic. It has an aluminum top with many holes and it gets pretty hot (heat is transferred well!). As you can see it has a USB adapter so you can plug any usb into it...it basically doesn't take up one of your precious usb ports.

Here are pics of my opened up Ferrari 3200 according to instructions given to all by Snorre. I had to install 1 Gig of Corsair XMS ram. I haven't seen any of these pics on the forums, so I think you guys will be interested to see at least underneath the keyboard.

enjoy!

and the bottom which shows the personal ID tag and the Shock protector for the HDD.
If you guys want bigger pics I'll upload and link them...too tired to do it all tonight hehe.

These pics (above) were taken by my wonderful Sony U-60 Waterproof Camera! I let my friend borrow it for his vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico: Here are a couple he took.

I am most likely selling this laptop and my Toshiba widescreen P15-S409 laptops. $1950 shipped for Ferrari with the Corsair 1GB XMS RAM. $1850 with stock 512 RAM. $1250 shipped for Toshiba. Thanks!

Do you know if it is possible to take out the slot loading DVD drive in the ferrari? or is it actually part of the case.

i believe it can be removed...it is not built onto the case, there are slits on either side of the slot drive.

Yes, if you look at picture 5 as posted by hyogen, ferraritop3.jpg ,you will notice on the top left hand side but right of the memory stick a square slot with a screw on it, simply take this screw out and pull the drive from the front and it will slide out.

How do you upload images? I cannot upload a modified image with an arrow pointing at the screw to be taken off.

Does the ferrari really get hot with out the cooler? The hard drive is causing the heat right? Would it be possible to put some kind of heat shielding material under the palmrest or around the harddrive to keep yourself comfortable? Thanks for the replys.

The answer is "yes it gets really hot". But so do a lot of other laptops, and I'm not sure how warm it is comparatively speaking because I haven't tested them all. I wouldn't touch the insides, but I have on occasion put somehting under my wrist
