Sager screen quality - Page 3

lol, yeah, it's late. Anyway, it may not have been a manufacturing fault, just a defective unit or something, or maybe a defective batch of LCD screens, considering it hasn't happened again since then as far as anyone on the forums is concerned.

I dont know if the ripples can be caused by pushing on LCD screens, but pushing on them can't be good for them. I know for a fact that pushing on them didn't cause the problem on the two 5620's that I had. They had the ripples right out of the box, and they both had the same problem. If nobody else here has had the problem them I think it was a bad batch of screens, which is good news to me because I held off from buying another Sager because of the screen problems.

I love the screen on thie 8886... and everyone who sees it stops and stares, lol, it's huge and bright and gorgeous :-)

Heh. You get UXGA or SXGA+? It's bigger than a normal 17" CRT right?

I'd get it, but I think I'd be happy with a 5660. I get a Sager sooner that way.

The 8886 only comes with the SXGA option at 1280x1024... and it is the same size viewable as a 17inch crt, yep yep. :-)

pointer size

Are there any other ways to change the size of your mouse pointer (ive got the uxga) also, is there a way to increase the size of the icons to make them larger other than properties, effects, large icons?

Another way to increase icon size is to go to properties, but then into Appearance. In the option bar, choose "Icon" and then change the size box next to it. It SHOULD work.

It worked

Thanks, it worked!

Reading reviews, i came across many times on good references about contrast in 8886. Does it mean that contrast on 5560 has any noticeable difference? Can you adjust brightness and contrast
in 5660 and 8886?

Yes, they can be adjusted. The 8886 just naturally has a very nice contrast to it people comment on. The 5660 naturally has a bright display.

I imagine both displays are excellent... the 8886 display is still pretty darn bright, even at the lowest setting, lol, so the 5660 display is prolly great with contrast too :-) Sager's just rule, lol.
