formatting woes: RAW file system??

i partitioned my external 27gb firewire into two, one 5 and one 19. the smaller partition shows correctly that it is an NTFS partition, the larger one shows only as a RAW file system partition. i've reformatted 3 times and it still refuses to become one with NTFS. any ideas?

try this

right click my computer,click manage.

then goto disk management

see if u can make it active or create a partition in the raw space.

i'm assuming this is winxp
