Compaq R3240US Parts

Thread Starter
I just bought a new 7200RPM Hitachi 60GB hard drive from NewEgg and I found out that it doens't even have the same connectors as what this chopshop Compaq wants....is there a reason for this?

I thought it was kinda weird that their DVD Writer cannot be replaced...but it's rather anoying when youcan't remove that useless 4200RPM dinosaur in there.

Is there an adapter of some sort? There has to be...this hard drive works on all my other laptops. And this Compaq is brand new.

Post your message to the "www.r3000forums.com", a lot of people there have replaced their 4200rpms w/ the 7200rpm Hitachi. You should get an answer there.

Also there is an adapter on the New compaq Hdds.. It should be the same for this HP.. Simple block connector w/pinout to flat lead on the board.
