Hi.

My GFX Card of my CL56 is not workin anymore. Can anyone tell me where I can buy a GFX Card for my CL56. I do not need the Radeon 9700. I just need something cheap or is only the 9700 workin with the CL56?

Thnx. Ciao, Henee

ooopss .... i don't think you can replace the vga chipset in CL56 .. it's soldered to the board.

better start looking at the warranty.

btw, what happened?

no, the gfx card is on another board that fits in the main board! go see my post on the foto gallery.

Yah, if memory serves from Got Chow's great CL50 to CL56 mod, the MR9700 in the CL56 is housed on a daughterboard.

the CL56 just came out... so it'd ought to be in warranty.

I do not have warranty on it. It is a refurbished system which I was allowed to keep .... so where can I get a vga card?

You might be out of luck. They don't sell it separately.

You can try talking to maybe whoever put the notebook together and they can maybe give you a price, don't expect it to be cheap though.

Yes some people were upgrading their CL50's to CL56's by purchasing a barebones CL56 or i think the motherboard, something like that.

But yes the Card is on a daughterboard however plugging the MR9700 from the GL56 into a CL50 renders it unbootable so you need the CL56 motherboard.
