-i would try to opt for a 939 chip, b/c those are the sockets that AMD will be developing more toward the future...if were to upgrade now, there is only the 3700+ as an option...so i would go w/ a 3500+ socket 939

- www.anandtech.com is where I got most of my information when i was building my gaming rig...for amd 64 bits corsair is good, but I opted to go w/ what they recommended as far as the mb/chipset/ram

-6800 ultra, I would go w/ a bfg not just b/c i have one, but they have great technical support, comes stock OC...or evga, pny...didn't hear any rave reviews about xfx

-go w/ a HD that supports SATA...it does help

-since u opted for a 6800 ultra...your goin to have to run at least a 480 watt PSU...the 6800 is a power eating monster as well as the amd cpus

-if your goin w/ a 17 inch lcd...make sure the response rate is 16ms or less...if it's more than that..than it's you will experience ghosting in games

-Optical drives, havn't had much experience w/ NEC, but LIte and PLextor have always been good to me

-if this is goin to be a purely gaming rig...i would get some 10000rpm raptors or something SATA...but it's really your own personal preference...best of luck...keep us posted

yea slave, you ask us if its good enough, but tell us not to correct anything,,,ok so here's how it is,,

yes, it is good enough..

However, you may wanna look tward the possibility of upgrading in the future and start slightly now so that it is not so hard then..
However, good comp, you do need a higher power supply tho, other than that I thinks its fine, IMO.... Yang's suggestions would help a lot, but with those comes cost, not sure what u can afford...

I'd get a 2nd smaller HD to install your OS on too... or you can partition the 200 GB if you want...but i like leaving the space there for storage...

Should have no problem at all playing those games with good graphics.

Also, your friends is going to build it for you? I suggest sitting there with him and learning while he builds. It will come in handy later if you want to upgrade and whatnot.
