sony TR3 webcam problem

after upgrading from XP Home to XP Pro

the webcam stopped to work, (the computer said the drivers are ok and working)
what should i do?

Here's what I would do: Unplug the camera. Un-install the driver from the Device manager. Plug the camera back in. Re-install the driver.

thanks, but there is a small problem

...that the camera is built in....and there is no way that i can unplug it (without tearing it apart.....)

Sorry, wasn't familiar with the model. I think I'd still go to the device manager and un-install the driver, restart the Laptop & let XP sort it out by detecting and reinstalling the camera.

thanks!

i think i got it fixed.

someone told me the computer default setting (perhaps after the windows upgrade) is to be on power saving mode for USB devices.
so that that webcam (internally plugged via USB) is permanently switched off.
just went to deviced manager/series port/USB and unchecked the power saving and bingo!
