Dell Xp-CD

Is the version of windows xp that comes with a dell computer a true copy of xp straight from microsoft or is it changed to add in a secondary dell layer of software. I know someone who takes warranty calls for dell small business and he urges me to find another copy becuase the dell xp cd would bog my system down. Does anyone know this for a fact? I was under the impression I purchased a copy of windows xp not dell xp.

Well from what I know the only difference is that you don't have to activate it because Dell has removed that part of the program, I don't know of any other differences.

i discovered if you check your System properties all dells seem to have the same Registered to OEM number
