It will fit. If I remembered correctly, this was for the i8600. One of the members with the Sager 3790 asked them if it will fit the 3790, and they sent them a free shield to try. And it fit!

But now, when I look again, Dell seems to have disappeared from the list...

there product page was messed today so i didnt order the new sheild today ... but will tomorrow maybe ... i am still thinking about the shinza sleve .... i am already putting it in my ogio metro ... just dont know if they will both fit in my bag
post #26 of 90
how do you like your ogio metro? on ebags the backpack looks kind big with all the pockets..
Spiike, it does seem big. I checked it out at my local electronic shop. Not sure if I really want it though, although it could carry all my books. One thing I don't like about these backpack because the notebook holder, it seems cheap...
I like it ... the pockets are mine fold together when nothing in them so it gets smaller ... i got especially for the seperate laptop compartment .... and it in side loading just in case i could put a open shinza sleve in there and take it in and out with out having to open the sleve and bag kinda like just adding extra cushion.... the only thing i dont like in a minor thing is the main compartment for the books in smaller at the top then at the bottom ... is not a problem cause the books fit fine just something i dont like

they have it for dell 15.4'' lcd screens. The bad thing about the screen protectors they send are there might be scratches on them and it doesn't fit perfectly.

if you still want it
http://www.nushield.com/buy.htm
click on dell and it hsould e listed under it

thnx kingcow. I'll definately try this out. As long as they can be removed without damaging the lcd that is. I don't know what to mod after I do this. haha. My laptop sure has gone a long way from the "stock" dell. Might as well just go ahead and prepare funds for my new laptop... aka my first Sager. =)

if i was you i would go buy acetate film sheets and cut your own sizes

you can get them from mcmaster.com
Ewww... not everyone has perfect hand-eye cordination that can cut straight even if their life depended on it... I would spend the extra and get the pre-cut ones.
Is that all what the nushield is? A precut acetate sheet?
Skim you could always just use a paper cutter to make a nice straight cut.

I've got one for my 3790 and my Dell 2001FP. Theres a lot more to it than just cutting a piece of acetate. They cut them in a certain way that allows them to be installed in the monitor. Also, the measurements have to be EXACT. That being the actual screen size, and the amount of space underneath the bezzled where the shield fits into. I've been working with them for a few weeks, and gone through 2 beta shields to get it exactly right. I love them, and have them on my laptop and my desktop LCD.

what's the overall effect of the Nushield (besides glare..not concerned about that)? Does it give the appearence of sharpend resolution and brighter contrast...kinda like X-, Tru-, Crystal-Brite type screens?

BTW...because of you and your god' aweful posts and pics (jk ) I bought 2 3790's over the weekend (one for me and one for my wife). Here's to you brotha'

Your awesome review's, educated posts and ample photos on the forum solidified my choice. Now I'm on the hunt for a pair of Nushield overlays and BT mouse for the twins.

Congratulations and thanks for the compliment. I can't prove it, but I definitely feel that it makes the screen crisper and adds contrast. I believe Amir, who uses Nushield also, said the same. It may just be the placebo effect, but I really think it makes the screen look better. After having the shield on, I really miss it when I remove it.
Make sure you snag a pair of non-powdered surgical gloves from somewhere. Also, you need to have scotch tape and something to clean the shield with. The scotch tape is for removing the protective film from the shield. Hope this helps, and I'm sure both of you will enjoy your 3790s.

the only reason i said to buy it from mcmaster is because you can open up the bezel on your laptop and just put it in there. it will be easier than trying to cut the right size
post #39 of 90
the nushiel is a pain is the @$$ to install ... then on top of that i got smears all over the screen ... even though i used the klear screen single wipes that came with it and she shamy ... cant tell it when there is color on the screeen but when the screen is black you can see the smears
post #40 of 90
i just used my hands. but i made shure not the touch the lcd or the back side of the NuShield, just the fron of it and clean it off afterwards. gloves are a pain in the ass and that wipe pad that came with it aren't very good, they leave streeks.
