Does the fact that it has 4 SO-DIMMs mean that the comp can have as much as 4GB of DDR?

Is it as high as the Dell?

Btw, am I paranoid or does having a built-in Subwoofer just seem kinda iffy...I always think of notebook subwoofers as things that'll shake and rattle my comp more than it should ever be shaken or rattled. I think I would've been happier if they'd left that out and just used the extra space for cooling...

Also, having an S-Video video-in, does that mean you could, say, plug an x-box onto your comp and play on it? Does this mean that TV is now dead, long live the computer era?...yeah, I'm still a newbie when it comes to notebook shopping...

We don't know if their information is true. And Go-l I wouldn't put it past them to say its UXGA and ship you a SXGA (heh).

Usually the subwoofer is attached to the tv tuner. So dont buy it if you dont want a subwoofer. TV..I have a 50 and a 32 ...my pc is hardly going to replace those..but if your in a small room or dorm and limited on space..sure why not with the optional tv tuner..

Hey Ogre is it time to make a who will be king thread? :P

To whomever asked the question of why P4 in PCIE first..well its intel's techonology..I don't think Intel would make PCIE and say here AMD..you go with it first, we'll sit this round out heh..

Anyone have any idea the price difference between the P4 3.4 and 3.6.. I heard 3.6' and up are far better, heat and performance wise...

Only way I would get one would be if it had WUXGA...

It's a nice looking machine none the less.... Of course I'll wait for the first wave of them to go out, and let all of you Guinee pigs test it out.... Because I would be a little upset to drop 3K on a system and have it bugged out!
(when ever there are major new release, especially in a technology shift such as this, will have it's fair share of problems! 1st Gen Technology always does!)

If the 915 chipset in desktops is any indication of how it will work in this laptop.... Uhg....

Luke, is paint going to be available on these units right out of the gate? Or are they going to be like the 8790 at launch and take awhile to decide whether or not paint will be available?

All I know is that I fell in love with Sony's 17" screen last week while checking out notebooks...I imagine it won't be too long before Sager gets their hands on those X-Glass ultra bright WUXGA LCD screens. *crosses fingers*

Oh, ok...I thought that "built-in" meant non-optional/part of the comp design/live with it.

That's an excellent point...so much so that I kinda feel like a doofus now..

i really hope that it isn't going to have that 4200 price.
so, is there any word of any manufacturer making a 15" UXGA or 15.4" WUXGA that is pci-e?
Whoa, that looks nice. Shucks, it isn't 925X and still don't know about the DVD-+R burner specs. But oh well, everything else looks great. I wonder if the TV tuner can take HDTV cable broadcasts. That'd be sweet for my dorm, just 5.99 more. As long as the price is right, i'm going to get a sager!

look a wsxga screen is awesome. don't knock it till you see it. wuxga is too small at the size.
not having the UXGA monitor is a major downer for me, I also have no desire for 2 optical drives, 2 hard drives or 4 memory slots. I do like the CD controls on the front.

I am planning on getting a laptop and if I get one it will be before early december. that's the time period I have to receive it by, hopefully PCTorque will announce another PCI-E laptop.

What is the upgrade policy on other laptops to a PCI-E motherboard and/or UXGA monitors?

Also want to know about the paint option

The 8890 can hold two HDDs and two optical drives at the same time too. But the 4 slots for ram is cool.
so your saying a wsxga isn't high resolution. Its around 1680x1054 I think. Words are very crisp and are small but still readable.
WSXGA's good enough even for HDTV broadcasts, which I hope the new sager can display.
couldn't a wxga screen work for hdtv. orignal tv broadcast is 740x480

wsxga is awesome...wuxga is in-****ing-credible! Seriously, go out to a Sony store near you and check out their A170...its by far the best screen I've ever seen. You've got to see it to believe it, checking out pictures online doesn't do it justice. And yes, you can read on it fine 'cause the screen is that good. The problem with the A170 is its weak processor and 64mb ATI card. I want that screen on something with gusto. Something like this new Sager would be cool...

I'm kinda wondering if it was the resolution or the "X-Brite" Sony technology which made it jaw dropping though...

Paint jobs will not be available right of the get go. Its a many phased process to get going:
1. Approved by Sager to be paintable
2. Parts become available
3. Testing with our paint shop for adhesion to the material
4. The PCTorque "does it look good with paint test".

If at all possible we will offer paint jobs ASAP.

Wow, how did I miss this one?

It looks great and it also looks gigantic. Maybe I can squeeze a Blu-Ray drive in one of the optical bays next year. I hope the NDA on the NV41M/6800go drops soon.
