which one: ace utilities, tuneup utilities, powerup xp?

ok so im in search for a good multi-purpose windows xp tweaker/optimizer. the 2 things it must have is a good and SAFE file cleaner and registry cleaner. i dont want a program thats just gonna screw up my registry and delete important files.

i've tried the 3 programs listed above (they're the top rated ones on download.com) and they all have their pros and cons. ace utilties seems to be the safest but it lacks the options the other 2 programs have. tuneup utilities has a plethora of goodies but i've heard of some registry nightmares from reviews. then there's powerup xp which is nice looking and all but i dont trust it as much because there arent any user reviews.

so does anyone have any opinion on which one to use or have reccomendations of their own? any help would be great!

I like jv16 PowerTools. I use an old version though, that was still free - I think the newer versions cost something. I don't know about its file cleaner as I never use those, but its registly cleaning & fixing features I have been satisfied with.

Crap Cleaner to clean up files, Reg Cleaner to fix registry, Tweak UI or More Properties to tweak windows. I have probably used others, but these are my current faves.

Personally I use TweakNow Reg Cleaner and find it to be effective and "safe".

I recommend keeping your OS partition small and just formatting and reinstalling every month or so to keep things super clean. Most people are too lazy to do this though.

ok so i decided to go for tuneup utilities. im really starting to like it a lot. so far no problems and windows seems to be smoother than ever. plus there's no need for tweakUI!
