Clock not holding correct time?

Every few days or so, I notice that my clock randomly goes out of whack


The minutes are usually spot on, but the hours get set back by a couple of hours

Is there a separate battery for the clock

I have yet to actually run the regular battery down to the point where the puter would shut off, so I'm not really sure what's up here.....

yes, there's a cmos battery on the motherboard which holds your cmos settings (including time), how old is the laptop?

Hmm, it's about 2 months old, but surprisingly, since I started this post, I haven't had to reset the clock

Perhaps the time zone is not set up correctly and the windows clock is set to auto sync with a time server? Just a wild guess.
