Probably going to cancel order.

It has been a week and a half since I was told that my Alienware credit card verification would be sent out ASAP. I have called everyday and the blame just keeps getting passed back and forth between the finance department and the main customer service line.

This is insane.

I have enjoyed reading through these forums for the past year and have prepared myself for a possible wait while building the machine. However, I think it is asinine to be waiting this long for paperwork. I would buy the hurricane story if that is what I hear consistently. But one day I hear the hurricane story, one day I hear they are still reviewing my app(which they aren't).

I love Alienware computers and I have defended them to the death against friends of mine who think it is dumb to not just build my own machine. At this point, I don't care if I build it or buy somewhere else. I need a computer and it is pretty bad business if a company's primary function is to sell computers and they can't do that. I work at an online retailer and I understand the importance of customer service and jerking your customers around.

The people that I have been speaking with have been nice, but frankly I need someone who will stop passing the buck and just keep me on hold until my problem is resolved.

The funny thing, is that I ordered a Lightspeed machine (you may have seen my previous post) in hopes of getting it sooner. My setup has no delay other than standard processing. Now, I can only sit back in horror to think about how long it will take to build it if these guys can't put some paper inside of a mailbox.

Give it time man it's worth it!

Try this: Call twice a day. Talk to one person, get all the details. When that person makes you happy with all of their assurances hang up... then ten minutes later call them back, talk to someone new and see if they tell you the same thing. If not tell them what the other person said and make them uncomfortable. Call them many many times, I'm sure they keep track of how many calls you make. Also talk to their supervisor, if you aproch this with a certain attitude of annoyance over and over I'm sure they will help you out.

LMAO.

Its up to you dude, but you'll probably like it when you get it.

This stuff happens sometime. Someone in finance or CS decides to smoke some crack and lose a few thousand brain cells and in the mean time, your AW CC application is sitting under a mound of papers waiting for approval.

All I can say is that keep on them like white on rice.

Dude, you think that's bad I've been in Phase 1 for a whole week, I placed the order over the phone!

over the phone is slower I think. and another. why are you getting an alienware credit card? if this is causing you such frustration, i'll tell you like I tell the others. FINANCE IT THROUGH YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT. sheeeesh. don't go around crying when you still have other, more easy options left.

ps. i really am sorry that AW customer service is treating you like ****e right now though bro.

I finally got a DHL tracking number for the verification paperwork.

Geez, as soon as I was going to bail, they restore my faith. This reminds me of some of my ex-girlfriends. hehe

Gj,

I know its rough...but the quality of the machine and the service you get totally makes up for the waiting game...I should know, I'm in the midst of what could be a very long wait for the 6800 Ultra PCIE card :-/

Hang in there!! I'm with ya!

That happened to me one time with Compaq... my inquiry was in theiut system and somehow it was showing up in the system, but when they would try to enter it, it wouldn't load or there was nothing there. They sent it off to their IT dept to see if they could get it unstuck and they couldn't. So, they said I would have to wait 6 months to reapply so my name would be out of the systems. Stupid. But that was several years ago.

that's weird, I got verification on AW CC within approx. 10-15 minutes or so. Placed application, took a shower came back, and an email saying I got it was waiting.

They mentioned to me the other day that they've been having trouble with their financial systems because of the hurricanes. They are supposedly building mine while at the same time it's in Phase 3 while they recalc the price and refund me $61. So I'm in Phase 3, Phase 8 (website), and Phase 9 (since they are supposedly building it). Maybe this Phase thing isn't such a good idea.

I can top yours....they sent my credit app to another person.

Yes. That's right. Alienware managed to send all of my personal credit related information to some other customer. Basically because of AW there is now someone sitting somewhere that has every bit of information that they would need to commit identity theft or a whole other ange of fraud against me.

If you ordered an ALX than I think I got your order too. I'll sell it back to you for $3000?
