OK question the 20 percent of coupon is hard to pass up right now. What if I sold my 5150 on ebay (specs in signature) and bout a 8600. Do you think I would get enough for this 5150 (purchased it last December) to spend around 1500 dollars on an 8600??

It's possible that you could... if you purchased the system for $1300, however, $1500 might be a stretch...

Why do you want to move up to an 8600?

I purchased this 5150 for a little over 1900 dollars last December.

I want the 8600 for the lighter weight and the higher video card.

Okay. The upgrade reason sounds all right, but keep in mind, technology will keep changing and it's not difficult to lose ground quickly.

As for getting $1500, that doesn't sound too bad...

Getting 1500 for a Dell 5150 is not possible. But if you had cash to add twoards the 8600, it shouldn't be too bad.

i just sold my 5150 on ebay, tonight for 980 bucks on ebay and I only paid 908 bucks AR from dell in April

the new 20% coupons are hot, but last week's deal were better, cauz dell is not offering any rebate's this week.
