Does anyone know how many channels this TV Tuner has if you have Cable?

And how good does it work with Game Consoles? Is there any delay with it?

I just got this TV Tuner....and it is absolutely awesome TV Quality..and it runs Playstation 2 on my laptop flawlessly---no delay when playing..unlike other TV Tuners that I have heard about.

It also allows me to use my 5.1 Logitech speakers which makes the sound incredible...but you'll need a Gold-Plated Y-Adapter With RCA Jacks & 1/8" Plug if you want the stereo sound from your speakers when you play on the Playstation 2...so you can plug the red and white audio cables into it.

Highly recommend this TV Tuner.

How good does this record TV?

heh.... How many channels do you get with it

Curious, because I'm at a dorm at university and i get about 117 channels.... so wondering if i get all of them.

What resolution can you record shows?

On the webpage it says "5. Make pre-scheduled recordings of TV and FM broadcasting programs, to achieve the features of Video & Audio On Demand"

does that mean that you can set a show to record, leave your computer on and it'll do it automatically for you?

I have the AverMedia Ultra TV 500 PCI and it's great. To see how many channels, just see if it says CATV Tuner, then you can get all cable channels. My scheduler works great. A minute or two before the start time it turns on and tunes to the channel, then records at whatever setting you pick.

Is this tuner hardware or software encoding??

For those of you that do own a external TV tuner, do most tuners have the capability of seeing both North American NTSC and European PAL signals, with the right cable plug converter? I've looked on several product sites, and found no mention of this.

sorry it took so long to respond..but this tv tuner (the Leadtek Winfast USB II) is able to receive 125 tv channels

it has software encoding..i got this because someone told me that it would work better for Playstation 2 with software instead of hardware.

I'm not sure about what resolution you're allowed to record out..but I recorded the CSI and Without a Trace Season Premieres the other day and the quality was very clear and watchable.

I think most TV Tuners are only NTSC or PAL....most of them are not both.

Yeah, leadtek emailed me back about the encoding.

Hmmm, I just bought this tuner yesterday and I set it up on my bro's dell inspiron 5100.

How do I get sound on the recorded video? I had to plug my speakers into the line out on the tuner to get sound just for live TV. I tried plug in the 2 way cord that came with it (line out from tuner) to laptop... but I can't get sound on the recordings.

There's only two slots on his computer, the one with a microphone, and one with a headphone (the headphone works for external speakers.... so i figured the microphone would double as a line-in), but i suppose it doesn't work that way.

Does it work for you guys? (whoevers got this tuner at least)

I'm guessing sound would have to go through a line-in port. If you have an Audigy card, it should have one.
