I've been using the Asus powergear ap for my powermanagement but I came accross speedswitchXP on another thread? Could this be used instead of powergear or along with it? Does it offer any advantages? Thanks

I have them both and yes you can use them both - speedswitch installs as just another power option (such as Home/Office, Max Battery, Power4Gear, etc.) - so you can just choose between either P4Gear or SPeedSwitchXP, and others too, but I have found speedswitch to be more useful. All you need is to set the BIOS power options to AUTOMATIC (or whatever it was) and then speedswitch takes care of the rest in a great way.
Is there a way to use Speedswitch as my powerprofile but still automatically control LCD brightness? There doesn't seem to be an LCD option when using Speedswitch...
