dell 5150

Has anyone come to some informations about grph.card on 5150.I mean if it is realy swapable or its a con!

Since the 5150 won't be delivered until mid July (even CNET has pulled their First Take article on it from their website), it's unlikely anyone can really give an authoritative answer at this time.

The optimist's view is that, yes, the mini-PCI slot based graphics system typical of most Dell notebooks bodes well for DIY upgrades of the graphics card without having to worry about a complete MOBO swap.

Those more cautious would point out that there are all sorts of factors (power requirements & consumption, heat generation, compatibility, BIOS & driver issues, etc) which would limit a "free for all" plug 'n play approach, esp when Dell doesn't officially support doing this.

You may want to cruise the Dell forums as there has already been some talk of doing just that...
