New Dothan?

When is the New 2 GHz/533 MHz FSB Dothan coming out? Will it be available for the 600M??? And will it help gameplay any?
Early next year, No, No.

Put it in more simply, Dell will come out with a refresh model, aka the next 700m/600m/8600.

Processor speeds play a small role in graphical ability. So no, if the 600M is still stuck with the Radeon 9000, it will make no difference.

My guess is it is possible for dell to put a Radeon 9200 in the new version of the 600M?

They could but they won't.... in any case the MR9200 is actually a step back from the MR9000, not many people are aware of this but the M9 is the faster card...

yes MR9200 isn't all that good. my guess is that the 600m will be discontinued soon and a new replacement will be launced. Maybe 610m or 800m
post #6 of 30
600m already gone in some regions.

Any dothan with a 533mhz fsb will be in a PCI-Express chipset. Expect either upgradeable mobile graphics from ATI or NVidia OR Intel GMA 900 graphics which is integrated.

Or it could be an ATI or nVidia VPU soldered onto the motherboard (like always) but using an x16 PCIe interface to connect to the northbridge.

why is the 9000 better than the 9200?

Are integrated graphics always a bad choice? I dont know Im new to the laptop game!
integrated graphics is always bad if you do more 3d intensive work than solitare/minesweeper
