Thats a huge difference?????

Btw, I went back and looked at my previous posts and I didn't post below you anywhere else.

Not a huge difference:

Crucial 9800 Pro 128MB: 218.2 FPS
HIS AIW "": 218 FPS
Sapphire 9800 Pro 256MB: 223.5 FPS
ATI "": 223.6 FPS

is it really worth the $200+ dollar investment?
No it is not worth the $200 investment.

Btw, I know you're ****ing with me for your own giggles but whatever floats your boat.

The 9800 has twice the pixel pipelines as the 9700, so its far more than just a memory upgrade. I wouldn't be too optimistic about seeing a 9800 for Alienware laptops because PCI-Express graphics will appear in notebooks in October. It might also be worth it to note that the 9800 mobility will be the last iteration of AGP graphics in laptops...its the end of the line. This is why I decided to delay my laptop purchase for a few months so I can jump on PCI express.

Good job!

i got my mr9800 last night for my dell 9100 and believe me it's totally worth the wait. benchmarks literally double. 3dmark03 goes from ~3500s to 7000+ easily with a little bit of overclocking.

double the pixel and vertex pipes makes a huge difference. the 256 mb ram and 256bit interface help too. i hope it comes out for you guys.

7000? Nice.
yeah... most people are pushing 7500+ those things oc like mad. 350c/300m stock but you can safely oc them to about 400-425/375-395.
Very nice, have a compare link?!
look in the dell xps/9100 forum. there's a couple threads about overclocking where people have posted their results.

note the "official" thread and the thread asking if anybody's tried ocing the card
