dvdrw problems

Thread Starter
i just purchased a nec 2510a from newegg, to replace the dvd burner in my hp media center. when i try to burn a dvd (nero 5), it will not let me select my dvd burner. when i go to recorder, select recorder, it only has image recorder as the only option. i installed the 2.16 firmware, but i am not sure whats wrong. in original form, both of my drives was set to a cs setting (not master or slave). is this right? which should i set up as what? any help is greatly appreciated.

edited: i uninstalled the drive, and when it reinstalled, windows said that it was just a cd-rom drive. how do i change this to get it to recognize it as a dvdrw drive? i got the oem version, so i didn't get any extra software. was there anything that i needed? thanks

Upgrade Nero!!!!!!

Nero you poor thing.....
Anyway if you can upgrade to 6.3.1.5 or above and you should be ok. As your drive is not fully supported by version lower then the build I have given you....
Good luck...
