I get your point though. and i do agree about intel. i think that microsoft and intel have some sort of merger or something. expecially sence microsoft won't reliese the full version of their 64bit operating system until Intel gets done with their version of the 64bit proc. Man these companies suck they all fall in the same line as wal-mart and Disney. Big bower controls what is going on. I would really hate to see AMD get popular really fast and start pushing out quick thought of product that isn't built all that good. but then again my AMD Atholon sucks a$$. I have always had an AMD and never really like then all that much cause it tends to move information in huge chunks and takes forever to dump the info. But then again they could have improved greatly over the past 2 years. I havn't had the privalage to see these new pocs in action. I really need to find someone that has one and see for my self. but anyway I do give props to AMDs new proc for out benching the P4 but still it is just a 32bit it is going against. The real fun is when Intel releases thier 64bit proc and put side by side. Then things should start to become more interesting expecially with the full version of the 64bit OS. LOL it is like a boxing match!!!!

I seriously doubt anyone on this board will be using a P4 in 2010 or their current AMD64...

AMD all the way!

How can , higher performance, less power consumption, longer batterylife, lower price, fully 64 bit capable, less hot and therefore smaller, quieter and lighter, be wrong?

When it comes to anything but Intel centrino, there is no competition, only ass kissers. If you piss Intel off you are doomed! Therefore the flagship at any company has to be Intel. Centrino VS Athlon 64 depends on if you deperatly need extra 30 minutes of batterypower or rather have 64 bit and more power for gaming. P4 shouldn't exist in notebooks in my opinion.

There is nothing the P4 have on AMD or Intel Centrino, exept if you multitask with 10+ open applications where it might have a slight performance increase due to HT. In closer to normal multitasking actually the AMD 64 cpus outperforms P4 w/ HT. To me there simply is no place for the P4... It's a bummer!

Would have gone intel to be different. Unfortunately, this poll is a bit too much like our last election. Too much towards one way, or too much towards the other. Middlegrounds are a good, good thing.

How it the poll like the last election? If Bush had AMD's precentage in this poll, he would be one of the most loved presidents ever.

I meant it was like the election in the choices, not the results.
Either all one side, or all other. I personally think AMD's processors are majorly kickass, but intels, despite being able to boil and egg on them, aren't very far behind.

I'm less concerned over which is better, rather than both of the companies staying healthy, so we get competition. No competition=no leet CPUs.
A world with no leet CPUs is a sad, sad world indeed. Hopefully intel kills off the celerons though. The world may be a better (faster) place without them.
