8880 problem with games

OK I have a 8880, Radeon Mobility 7500, and in every game, i get texture corruption, everything from CS to ut2k4 to quake 3, FPS is high, game does not crash but all my textures are complete garbage. I did fresh install, followed the manual. Anyone have this before? Please help. The desktop is fine, movies are fine, displays are fine.

OK, i beleive this is more than likely a BIOS issue. Does anyone have an update for this bios on the 8880? Thanks!

I have the same laptop, it's tough getting some of the newer games to run good.

Did the games play ok before?

I have no idea, i got this laptop from someone who said counterstrike works fine. but now its all distorted and only works for a small amount of the time. I cant beleive no one has had this issue before. OpenGL and DirectX, i reformated so many damn times, and did the sequence of installation, etc. its depressing...

it only works for a small ammount of time? could it possibly be a heat issue? why else do you think it is distorting only some of the time?

well its odd, its not heat but I am thinking maybe its because I installed Dx9??? and the newest OpenGL??? possibly?
I would like to wait until someone else has the same issue before I start reformatting again

well, if you have already flashed the bios to the newest version, and have tried removing software, try what's next and look at the threads on the forum about using artic silver for heatsink attachment and try to clean out the heatsink. i was having similar problems with my 8890 and once i cleaned out the heatsink and used artic silver, all is good again. laptop fans need more care cause of dust n such.
