Reliable company for inexpensive desktops?

Where can i get an inexpensive desktop (without any "crapware") from a RELIABLE company that can ship to my house.

I am looking at paying less than $800, and while to you guys that would be waaay to slow, trust me, anything is better than my 733 MHz Pentium III with 128 mb RAM.

Ive heard of Cyberpowersystems.com....are they decent?

THanks,

Check out Vicious PC (www.viciouspc.com). They're an excellent company and might have something within your price range.

You can always increase the RAM. Are you running 2000 or XP? Either way, having at least 256 (512 recommended) will add a nice boost.

Nah, not going to build my own. Been there and the thing was unstable. Ill let a pro do it.

Regarding adding new memory, I also fear the computer is old and may crash. I have a lot of photos and music i dont want to loose and havent backed up to CD yet. Why? My burner wont work reliably and i make 10 coasters for every one sucess. New computer time. THanks for info i ll check em out, any others out there?

cyberpower doesn't seem to bad. One of my friends at school has one, I went over to his room and it was pretty good quality...

Check that out, seems pretty interesting. Go to the mwave site and add whatever you want then you can add assembly and they'll make it... Mwave has some good prices and is pretty reliable.

I don't have experience with monarchcomputer.com, but go look over their website. I have read some favorable posts about them - of course, take that with grain of salt.

I buy my desktops from Pixel USA in San Jose, CA. See www.pixelusa.com. They are a small store. I have bought full systems and partial systems from them. Service has always been excellent.

Not bad, good prices. Still a few hundred dollar more than if you built it yourself though.

I really wanted an Athlon desktop-replacement lappy. One night I was in Best Buy and they had the Compaq R3240US on sale for $1199 (after rebates). Since Alienware's Athlon DTR is delayed, I jumped on this and I've been very happy with it. Everytime I tried to price one on the web, by the time I got through all the selection chioces, my price was in the $3000 range, far more than what I wanted to spend.

I'm very happy with my Compaq R3240US. And, I'm adding more memory to it just to give it a little more horsepower -
