yeah i know the m6bne is favourite
but after looking at the people selling the asus..i do not get peace of mind..
why cant asus make their own and sell via newegg!!
anyway..

i have 2 rigs
an asus m6bne - wxga of course + 9700
an compaq x1000 - wsxga+ + 9200

rest of the stuff is same except that x1000 gets bluetooth..theyare priced too close as well..1800
or am i missing something?

i am torn between these two

i am no gamer ..but i play sometimes..
also i love to have the bragging rights and have something really cool....

plus i need the peace of mind that i have bought a quality product and if anythign happens i canget service...
sunno whtt to do...

rest of the config is 735,2200,2*512,60@5400,combo

also
is there anyway to get hp to remove or not to charge for the OS...
that will sweeten the deal in x1000 favour!

i have xpp and linux stuff at home..

the x1000 looks nice.. MR9200 should be able to handle 2002 or earlier games with no problem.

looks like they give you 266mhz ram though.

I've had two x1000 Compaqs and both had problems with the keyboard. Good apart from that, although the screens are a little dimmer than the Dell ones.

Look at resellerratings for the Asus resellers out there. Unreal. You will get it supported IMO

The Asus is superior in EVERY way except for the HP's WSXGA+ screen.
