OT: Best Browser?

I am an avid fan of Opera, but I can just not seem to use another browser and have the guts to uninstall IE6 on XP. It seems like for whatever reason, some application ends up using IE. Eg. McAfee, I use their suite of products and am very happy with them. However, everytime I need to update a component of the suite, I will not be able to do that with another browser. You need to have IE to keep McAfee up to date. This I find ridiculous!

Lately, I have started using Netscape 7.2. I have to say I'm surprised pleasantly. The only problem I have with it is that it makes font look even smaller, I have WUXGA resolution.

I'm look for a very general opinion, as I don't do web page designing or development.

agreed. firefox is very good, and it's not even 1.0 final yet (it's 1.0-something, not final, IIRC).

Just downloaded firefox, looks like you guys managed a convert. One quick question, how do you get it to remember web based email account passwords, like the ones for yahoo mail and hotmail?

PS. oh! and with skins looks very handsome indeed, something which is important to me.

Firefox plus the free mouse gestures plugin is fabulous -- tabbed browsing, going forward and backward just with the mouse buttons.

After using Firefox for the past half a year, IE feels so empty and useless to me.

'You mean I have to put my mouse pointer up there just to go 'Back'?!'

I use Opera and MYIE2 (now called Maxthon) for pages that do not work right in Opera.

I swore by myie2 for the longest time. (and used the last version of myie2 I had when they switched to the new name or whatever, it looked flakey.)

Recently made the switch to firefox a few weeks ago and I LOVE it. It took a good ~4 hours to get everything the way I like it but it was worth it. There are still a few problems that are irritating but so far I'm able to live with them.

i use IE6 and have never been dissatisfied with it. IMO it's very fast, universally compatible, and has never given me any problems. In fact, all of the microsoft software I use (IE, OE, office2K, XP) are rock solid and have NEVER EVER crashed. I find it interesting that my gAIM crashes all the time

I use IE6 as well. I found a nice add on that has spell check for it. Boy do I use that and the google bar. I also have pop-up stopper and it works great. As far as I know there are no other browsers that have all of these functions.

Yes, there is: Firefox!

Google toolbar, autofil, no spyware, built in adblock.

Guys, I was a IE stallwart for years!!!! I'm telling you firefox is better. And there's a handy extension that allows you to "view in IE" wiht a simple right click.

Auto fill is not spell check. I think you are right that it is great, but I need my spell check. I wish I didn't.

IE's total usage has dropped about 1,5%.... down to 93% or so Firefox keeps going up. I believe the trend will continue for a decent while. About time too, IE has had too long as the only choice.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but ... Firefox!!!
