I dont really think anyone will ever lend you their laptop unless they know you. I thought it was more of just a joke type a deal. But more power to ya if you're able to coerce someone into giving you their laptop.

No no, not give me, ill come to them in a public place and they let me play with it and see if its comfortable. I think most people realize i wasnt asking for their computers. It was a hey can i come over and try your new computer kinda thing. But its alright i know sometimes it takes people longer.

I am not "slow" if that is what you implied. I am saying it would be rediculous of you to believe, in the world we live in, that some stranger would go anywhere to meet up and let someone else use their laptop. Public or not, all it takes is one stab with a knife or one shot with a gun and the person you're meeting would have killed you. I see you are not too familiar with the world today and you remind me of the type of person I see on the news meeting in a cafe with a total stranger, then turning up missing in 2 days and found 3 months later with 1 arm and both eyes missing. I am not here to condemn your attempt to meet someone to use their laptop, but dont complain if that person then murders you.

A little paranoid aren't you?

Ive expereince more of the bad stuff in life than most people. But i cant live my life in fear of stuff happening. I will live with faith in people, but only putting myseld in little danger. And know theres noting to say that a guy with a sager in chicaog isnt going to stab me but theres noting to say that a guy behind me in McDonalds isnt going to stab me. Stop living your life in fear get out of your house and dance because well sleep when were dead.

Hahha im 18 varsity wreastler weighin in at 220 i doubt that unless this guy comes into a crowded buisness place with a gun is he gonna be real successful at murdering me. Hey anyone in chicago with a sager, if your planning to murder me... DONT!!! Cause if you guys kill me and prove ryanniedz right, im gonna haunt your asses. ryanniedz try getting out of your house.

I do get out of my house, everyday. I have a nook in my back yard I crawl to. No , seriously, loki, all it would take is a taser stun gun and you would be knocked out. Then your destination is up to whomever. I am not paranoid, I am sick and tired of hearing about abductions on the news. And underage sex scandals and all this other crap that was started through the internet. If people took responsibility for their actions, I would not care if you wish to meet someone for a laptop luncheon. But for those who then start awareness groups and try to get laws passed because their children were abducted, those are the reasons I complain about internet hookups And Loki, I am kinda strong if I do say so myself, but even I recognize how powerful certain drugs can be in knocking me out.

Ye your probably right. There are some weirdos out there that would think about shooting, stabbing, drugging and dismembering someone to get there hands on a laptop.

Maybe the Sager should come with a health warning!!

You hear about all this on the news because everytime it happens it is reported. It's not like that kind of thing happens all the time. I love it : on the news we hear about a man getting killed after attempting to meet someone in a cafe to see his laptop. Then they cut to the life insurance commercials. You are not going to be stabbed in a coffee shop, don't worry about it.

Alright i see where you are coming from, if i was younger or lived a shelter life i would be naive in making this proposition. But i am a believer that things will happen to people but you should be careful. And even with that ive been carjacked at gun point, but one bad apple cant ruin the whole barrel. I mean it can but,, whatever you get the point. I can see where your coming from now. And while I agree that while some kids shouldnt try to meet with a stranger, no matter what, in this situation i believe it is a moot point. The arrangements i hope would be for someone to come to my family's buisness (a clothing store) maybe hook them up with a discount on some clothing or something. Or to lunch and hear about the comp. Considering that most people on this forum are computer geeks.

And the whole knocking me out thing probably wouldnt work. ITs hard to dragging a 6 foot tall 220 guy out of a restaurant or something with no one noticing (especially since im a gassy guy im sure i would let one rip while passd out). And hell with the way parking is i would have to be dragged about two blocks. ANd then up or down a few flights of stairs and at least one elevator. Im talking public public...

Hope you have fun using someone's sager

I'm also in the Chicagoland area, and wouldn't mind seeing an 888x in person. I would love to find out if it will fit in my current laptop bag (Boblbee Megalopolis). I think people afraid of getting killed meeting someone in a public place is a little over the top.

On the fear factor side, here is a suggestion. If you're downtown, meet in a secured building. I work in the Sears Tower, and everyday we have to go through metal detectors, and items have
to be placed in an X-ray machine. If you've got a gun, you're not getting in. And to make the deal better, there is a starbucks on the main floor.

Can I buy anyone a frapachino? I just want to see a sager in real life.

ps. sorry for tagging along with the first poster, but I thought he had a good idea.

I work downtown one day a week at the NBC tower. I can meet you sometime. I have the 8887 3.06HT w/ most of the options. Maybe we can work something out.

I travel quite a bit and I have been very happy with the computer. I highly recomend it.

Post something here I should be in Chicago on Friday the 27th or sometime next week.

Sean
