8886 Wireless Question

Hello there!

Just got my 8886 today and I am installing things and trying to get my wireless to work. My question is...I didn't know about the WiFi MiniPCI option, and I do not believe it is enabled on my computer, unless its standard. I bought a WiFi card but I cannot figure out where to place the thing

So I'm wondering if the WiFi card I got is compatible in the first place, or if I'm just missing the MiniPCI wireless somewhere.

What brand/model wireless card did you buy?

There isn't an option for the miniPCI wireless because the antenna isn't installed in the system. It's in the owners manual as an option that Sager doesn't currently offer.

Looks to my like it is a generic wireless card, don't notice a brand name on the box or card right away, but it is a IEEE802.11b WLAN Standard.

Product Name: 11mpbs Wireless LAN PC Card.

So yes, it seems it a generic

Also, from reading the forums I've seen people say you respond fast, but damn!

Through the genius of what is the manual I have figured out that there was a plastic thing in "place"of where my wireless card would go. This is what was confusing me, but I found the eject button and got it plugged in.

Thank you for the fast reply though, I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future.

If I were only half as fast and active on the boards as beebster lol.
Is it the wireless PCMCIA card and was it ordered with the Sager itself? If so it's probably the one Sager themselves offer made by ConnectGear. It's compatible with the system and should be fine. Unfortunately, I haven't tried it with enough wireless networks to list if any of them have connection issues with this card.
What are you using for the access point?

Well..

Through random troubleshooting myself I figured it out. Thanks
