My New 8790 Pics

As some of you may remember, I wanted to take apart my 8970 so I can do this to it. Turns out all I had to do is remove the keyboard, not take apart the whole laptop. This gave me plenty of space to apply the carbon fiber vinyl. I like the way it turned out. Tell me what you all think.

I was only able to see one of the pics (the left palmrest area) but that looks really sharp. Where did you get that stuff?

hmm I can't see any of the pics, just error pics in their place.

Sorry all, I don't know why sometimes the pictures work and sometimes they don't. I am able to see the pics at home just fine, but not at work. Took me all of 20mins to do. Real easy job to do. Just make sure there is no dust in the room, because you can see them under the vinyl.

Sorry John,

I got the carbon fiber vinyl from eBay. It was $10 for 2 feet, just enough of what I need. It does not help with the heat at all.

Me neither, but if I paste the image properties URL in a browser I get:

hmmm, how much lighter would a carbon fiber laptop be, no doubt it would be a lot stronger. That would truly be the equavalent of a ferrari or Lamborghini in latop terms

that looks PIMP!!!
I wonder if PCTorque or iBuyPower would offer to do something like this for small fee.
I have to say again, that looks PIMP!!!

You can do it to your 3790, however I think the 3790 looks great as it is. I just did it to my 8790 because I was bored, and it didn't want the paint to eventually fade on the hand rest as I've seen on other Sager posts.

Darn, no pics to see. I don't recall having seen this when it was first posted. I wouldn't mind finding something to cover my palmrests. I've probably got the worst palmrest problem here on the forums (at least, it happened to me the fastest and I've been the most vocal about it). Once I get my unit back from Clevo, it'd be nice to do something to it so it doesn't look like crap.
